Jonathan Cooke has had a 35 year career in the Royal Navy, including nearly 25 years as a submariner in a period which encompassed the Cold War and the Falklands conflict.

Title of lecture: A submariner’s reminiscences

After an autobiographical introduction his talk will cover the role of submarines and the profound technological changes in that period  as well as personal reminiscences of life in ‘boats’. Since leaving the Navy Jonathan worked in the City before retiring to Morestead, near Winchester. As the recently installed Chairman of Trustees at St. Cross he will also talk about current plans for the Hospital’.
