Our Board

John Pringle
Chairman of Friends
Since retiring from a nomadic career as an International Banker I have become involved with various Charities.

Tony Gaster
Treasurer
I came to Winchester in 1979. I established my business here as a chartered engineer, now retired. I have been closely involved with the church at St Cross in recent time.

Fiona Whitehouse
Administrator
I have lived in Winchester for over 17 years and I am active in a number of other charities, including Rotary.

Emma Pike
I’m delighted to have joined the Friends of St Cross Hospital Trustee Board, a place that first inspired my partner and me to move to Winchester and connects deeply with my background studying medieval almshouses. With over a decade of fundraising experience and a passion for heritage, I’m excited to contribute to preserving and supporting this remarkable Hospital and community.

Jonathan Sleath
Having retired as a GP, I moved to Winchester in 2018 with my wife Lysbeth, who grew up in the area. I am delighted to be involved in the community, and in helping to support the ancient foundation of the Hospital of St Cross.

Sue Woodward
I moved to St Cross with my husband, Stuart, in 1991 before the birth of our first child and fell in love with the Hospital and its beautiful surroundings. I was appointed Trustee of the Hospital in 2005 and Honorary Treasurer in 2011

Pip Billington
I have lived in St Cross for 18 years. and feel very much part of the wider community of St Cross and I was delighted to be asked to give time to the Friends who are doing such great work in inviting people to support the Hospital of St Cross.

Claire McDonnell
I moved with my husband and daughter to St Cross in 2017 and my daughter attends St Faith’s school. I was a Makeup Artist at the BBC in London for 20 years before starting our family. I have always loved St Cross Hospital since my parents moved to the area in 1992 and I was delighted to be asked to be a Friend.

Fiona Goodman
I have lived in St Cross for the past 27 years. I recently retired and, having been a Friend of St Cross Hospital for many years, I now have the time and energy to support the charity in a more practical and useful way. The Hospital of St Cross is also very dear to my heart as my father, John Goodman, has been a brother there for the past 8 years.

Stephen Shuttleworth
My family moved to Winchester in 1965. I have just retired after teaching for more than 40 years. I look forward to becoming more involved with the Friends of St Cross.

Felicity Pennycook
I worked as a Chartered Accountant in London, Amsterdam and Brussels before returning to the UK to live in Shawford several years ago. Having been fascinated by St Cross for some time I was delighted to become Honorary Treasurer of the Hospital of St Cross in 2020.

Lesley Loughridge
We came to Winchester in 1983 and joined the Friends of St Cross Winchester a few years ago to support part of the city’s great history and make new friends. We have been very much welcomed and enjoyed the events. I am pleased to be a Trustee of the Friends of St Cross Hospital Board to continue this work.

Marion Carr
I was married in St Cross, so when I moved back to this area I started to help in the Hundred Men's Hall. I was so pleased that I was asked to become a trustee.
